Back in action.

Please excuse my lack of engagement for the last 6 months. Let's say that 2024 hasn't been amazingly kind to us here. We lost our dear little Oy on the 7th January and it's been a bitter pill to swallow. He had his favourite walk at Cefn Sidan beach, running on the sand with the wind fanning his hairy little tail, sniffing at everything and loving life. Two days later he was gone. 14 years of love and mischief. Such a privilege. What a dog he was. My work buddy, forest school dog, nemesis of rabbits and our loving hairy old boy. There's a huge Oy shaped hole in our house and hearts.

Then just as things were starting to ease, my beloved horse Gini decided it was time to leave us too. My rock for the last 22 years, it's been a real heart blow. She was almost 33 and a dear old girl. A right handful when she was younger, she had become a favourite with the grandchildren in her old age, gentle, patient and loving. I love you my Gingin.

Sorry, depressing I know. My animals are part of my family and I miss them desperately. Both are buried where the sun can shine on them. Locally sourced wildflower seeds have been scattered on them too so they will continue to bring joy throughout the summer.

Having felt so miserable I lost all desire to draw, I apologise for being out of action for so long. I have, however, just completed a drawing that was for a local dog rescue charity auction - West Wales Poundies. Check them out if you are looking to add a furry friend to your family.

And because I'm soft, on a visit to Alpet Poundies, with my friend who was hoping to rescue a Malinois, I took the opportunity to look at the old boxer they had in (after I had been tagged in his post MANY times!). Well... long story short, Ozzie dog has come home here to be fostered (adopted if I get my way!). It's like he's always been part of the family. My son said you can have too many boxers... I find 4 a lovely number (not forgetting Tony the terrier too).

So on with the second half of 2024. May it be full of love, laughter and happiness. For all of us.
